Our Strategic Sales Operations (SSO) career path is your opportunity to help Jacobs win work so we can tackle our clients’ challenges and lay the foundation for human progress. Supporting a variety of proposal assignments, Jacobs Document Publishers are our Microsoft Word experts who transform ordinary documents into clean, clear, attractive publications. Working independently or with sales partners, they use page layout, formatting, styling, and typography to create both electronic and print deliverables of varying size and complexity. Our Document Publishers’ diverse range of skills include document design, formatting, and an eye for proofreading, thereby allowing them to shepherd a deliverable from conception to production and delivery. All members of our SSO team are expected to be self-starters who: develop creative solutions to tackle challenges; are team players ready to support each other; and have a vested interest in Jacobs’ success.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Each day will present different activities and opportunities as you help position Jacobs for success in our sales efforts. Our Document Publishers are responsible for the following general activities:

Use Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and collaborative Web-based tools such as SharePoint, to create templates, format, and edit qualification statements, proposals, presentations, and other business development/sales deliverables. Create templates in MS Word and format them according to the RFP specifications, such as page layout, font size, margins, and page limit. Utilize and apply paragraph styles to ensure consistency and quality in all MS Word documents. Strong attention to detail to ensure all specifications are correct and proofread for accuracy, consistency, spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, graphic alignment, and formatting issues.

Apply advanced MS Word skills and best practices to create and style tables, text boxes, and other elements, ensuring consistency and readability throughout the document. Take graphics created by a graphic designer and place in the final document. Ability to voice concerns and/or ideas to proposal teams so that document is of the utmost quality and compliant to Jacobs and client standards. Adhere to Jacobs policies, protocols, and best practices for document production, including file management and archiving, branding guidelines, and quality assurance. Able to manage multiple assignments at a time with varying deadlines, be able to sets priorities, manage time, and organizes work according to schedule and deadlines. Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with teams across different locations and time zones. Applicants must be prepared to align working hours with peers in North America. Flexibility to work overtime hours and on weekends as needed, especially for deadline-driven assignments.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business or any technical / related discipline from a college or university.. 4 years of publishing (electronic and/or printed materials) experience (or equivalent). Advanced understanding of MS Word Ideally here is what you will also have: Experience in hard deadline environment. Prior Architectural/Engineering & Construction and/or Proposal and Sales experience a plus. Ability to successfully work independently in a remote setting; hybrid and in-office options preferred
