Our land surveying team is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice therefore we have a need for a Survey Instrument Operator – Field Technician to assist our party chiefs in the field on several of our projects in the North Texas region. Principal duties and responsibilities will be assisting the Party Chief in completing different types of survey work assignments.

  • Performs established procedures under limited supervision in the form of collecting data with the following: GPS receivers as a base and rover via RTK, using any VRS network, and / or including the use of robotic instruments

  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly to multiple field line codes

  • Perform basic boundary and topographical survey functions

  • Understand basic field calculations and procedures

  • Progress to calculating angles and distances

  • Downloads and uploads data collector files everyday under the Party Chief’s direction

  • Keeps survey vehicles clean and organized and in proper working order

  • Prepare field daily and mileage reports, data logs, and field work orders

  • Works directly with multiple Party Chief’s to absorb and broaden survey experience

  • Desire to grow within the company to potentially become a Party Chief

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency

  • Computer literate in Windows, Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel

  • Ability to operate, adjust, and maintain assigned equipment, i.e., GPS receivers, digital levels, robotic instruments, and various other survey equipment

  • Willing to travel to multiple office locations, project locations, and travel for out-of-town work as needed

  • Valid driver’s license is required

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of surveying work

  • Experience using Trimble equipment and software products
